 | Maxima’s instrumentation cover a wide range of "operator interfaces", from custom-engineered J1939/CAN instrument clusters and displays to standard gauges. |
INSTRUMENT CLUSTERS CUSTOM-ENGINEERED CLUSTERS Maxima’s custom-engineered clusters are ideal for construction equipment, tractors, lift trucks, specialty and utility vehicles, and over-the-road trucks. Clusters can be configured in either SAE J1939/CAN or analog formats, with integral LCD or dot-matrix displays and warning lights. Electronic clusters use stepper motors for improved reliability and optimal packaging.
Key Feature: Maxima's clusters can include features such as built-in transmission control or I/O functions that support OEM goals for lower installed-system cost and improved function.
OEMs rely on Maxima to design, develop, test and support operator interfaces that are specific to their vehicle. Here's what we do: Explore concepts using high-quality renderings to obtain inputs from dealers and end-users- Benchmark alternatives and establish suitable targets (i.e. Design-to-Targets)
- Develop Subsystem Design Specification (SDS) based on OEM specifications
- Create 3-D models in Pro-E; obtain concept units
STANDARD CLUSTERS Maxima offers tooled clusters that can be customized for specific OEM applications, depending on the volume. There are 5 models: 1) Universal Cluster (3-, 4- or 5-gauge version with up to 16 warning lights), 2) 5GC (5-gauge, with 8-warning lights),3) Compattino™ (3-gauge, with 21 LED warning lights), 4) World Compattino™ (2-gauge, 8-warning light, combination LCD hourmeter/tach; optional full tach or speedo), and 5) Standard Warning Light Clusters. OPERATOR INFORMATION & CONTROL SYSTEM (OCIS) Maxima can turn your instrument cluster into a "command center". Our "Operator Information & Control Systems" (OICS) combine data acquisition and operator display functions with embedded machine control in one package to provide a powerful, cost-effective solution for OEMs. For example, we can integrate the transmission controller into the cluster-display, thus enabling the OEM to eliminate a separate costly part. Or, we can integrate speed control, thereby preventing potentially damaging over-revs. In effect, Maxima's OICS provides an all-in-one, real-time multiplexed operating system to ensure a high degree of value-add. |
